Your baby is ONE! Slow down time, you’re going too fast! Capturing your baby’s first birthday with a smash session will give you a beautiful (and fun) keepsake to look back on. Little White Smash sessions are all about the fun of watching your baby get down and dirty with their birthday treat. The session will be held in the comfort of your home on a plain white backdrop. I love minimalism and believe that baby's personalities shine when there are no other distracting elements. My aesthetic is clean and simple. Keeping things simple also allows me to create timeless photos. All I ask is that you prepare or buy a cake (or donuts) for your baby. At first, I will photograph your baby on a white and disposable backdrop. Then, it’s time for the smash! We will bring out the sweets and see how your baby reacts.

Timing
Our session will typically last 1.5-2 hours. There is no pressure to rush. We will have a ton of time to catch the moments of your baby exploring and having fun. If your little one needs a break, or if you do, we can always just relax and take a few moments to chat or fuel up on snacks or water. I want everyone to feel relaxed and have fun to build beautiful memories together!
Styling
For baby, I recommend choosing an outfit that fits them well, that you think is super cute but that also won't distract from the focus of the photo. For boys, jumpsuits, matching sets, or jeans and a t-shirt are all great options. For girls, I recommend rompers or matching sets. If you opt for a dress consider getting a diaper cover, as dresses tend to ride up and be uncooperative during sessions. Try to keep colours neutral. Avoid loud patterns and distracting logos

Joy and confidence shines through when we take the time we need to feel good about ourselves. Make sure you schedule in the time you need before the session to get ready, and your focus will shift to being about making memories.

The set up
I only shoot with natural light, therefore when I arrive I will ask you for a quick tour around your home to find the best window to set up in front of. This may require moving furniture around which is the reality of having the studio come to you. The back drop is 90 inches wide and will be set up in front of the window using photography tripods. I can provide a simple white cake stand upon request.

Break down: Smash & Lifestyle photos
The cost includes the white backdrop (which is disposable and makes for easy clean-ups), the session itself, and a private online gallery of 30 photos, delivered in high-resolution for you to download. I always take time to capture lifestyle in-home family portraits before we set up to smash.

The smash photos cannot be booked without the lifestyle option.
